History

The Heritage listed Campbell Cottages, built in the Colonial Days, by Alexander Campbell, A Scottish apothecary. Originally only single story.
Half of the building was leased to the National Bank, which rushed to open a branch ahead of the Bank of South Australia, significantly this would have been one of the first Banks in the South East (Limestone Coast) c1857. At a later date the office and second story were added.
For a period of time the whole premises was used as a girls school.
For many years after this the four cottages were used for permanent rental, the office was a Shop, firstly a Chemist shop then a Hardware shop.
With the growing popularity of Robe we refurbished the building, converted the shop into our office and upstairs into our living quarters.
We then opened for Holiday rental and proved very popular with the traveling public.
So why don't you come stay with us and discover the Secrets of Campbell Cottages
